The Special Adviser to the President, Mr Daniel Amokachi has applauded the Hon Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, for doing the right thing.
The former Super Eagles player sad this, during the Handing over of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium after successful renovation by the Dangote Group.
Excerpts from his interview:
"We all know how this stadium came about, how it was abandon for over a decade. For we professionals, and lovers of the beautiful game of football, when we saw it on TV, where calves were roaming on the pitch, eating the grass. It is a shamble. We received a lot of calls from our friends, even Zambia, saying 'which kind thing be this one'.
But, we thank the heavenly father for giving us the grace to have somebody like the Hon Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, who like the Permanent Secretary and the Dangote Group did say, he has Nigeria at heart.
He has the youth and sports development at heart. He came about all these. If not because of him, definitely, we would not be standing here today.
Your initiatives sir, made us all to be here. Thank you very much. Do not be tired, continue doing what you are doing. You are doing the right thing. We know you are on the right path.
I hope now that the Nigerian football house will embrace the Moshood Abiola National Stadium as their home", Amokachi concluded.
