Who Is Against Olorunleke Ojo At The National Team Level?

February, 23 2022.

Olorunleke Ojo is a tall, lanky Nigerian professional goalkeeper. He has the physical advantage and also one of the best in the NPFL. He is currently Enyimba safest hands. He was at the U20 World Cup before he played in the CAF confederation cup with Enyimba. He is also the number 1 choice for Coach Finidi George at the expense of John Noble who went to AFCON for jamboree.

Goalkeepers are strong pillars in any team. Super Falcons match against Ivory Coast is a typical example that shows goalkeeping is a strong department in football and we shouldn’t select our keepers with levity hands or sentiment. Majority of football critics can confirm that the lady Elephants played well but their goalkeeper caused their loss.

We all want the best for the Super Eagles and we want to qualify for World Cup. We can’t win with words but with action, (Actions speak louder than words).

As we are selecting excellent Strikers, let the technical team also select excellent goalkeepers. We need to explore our home based goalkeepers.

It was revealed that Maduka Okoye was sick the day Nigeria lost to Tunisia but he still kept. That is to show that the coach doesn’t believe in the rest of the goalkeepers invited. Maduka Okoye got the platform to showcase what he is made up of, it’s time to give Olorunleke Ojo the same platform and opportunity.

Who is behind the call up of John Noble? John Noble has no business in the Super Eagles. I can count like 4 good goalkeepers in the NPFL before I mention John Noble.

Daniel Akpeyi should have retired by now in the National team, but someone keeps pushing him with call up without appearing at goal. It’s time to give more younger goalkeepers chances in the Senior National team.

Adewale Adeyinka is also an excellent goalkeeper. The combination of Olorunleke Ojo and Adewale Adeyinka in Super Eagles, gives us confidence in goalkeeping department.

Nigerians want to know what the technical crew has in plan for inviting new and excellent goalkeepers. We cannot afford to repeat AFCON mistakes.
