The President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Chief Tonobok Okowa says he is working with athletics stakeholders to ensure that the nation returns back to it's glory days in the field and track events.
In a chat with www.ckdmedia.ng the Delta state born sports administrator believes that the current AFN board can create a new identity for the sport.
According to him, the era of late preparations for international events is over as the new board of the AFN had resolved to toe a path that would bring Nigeria back to it's glory days in athletics.
"We are done with the issue of the past, we have a good architecture for athletics and we shall pursue that to logical conclusion".
Chief Okowa promised that no stone would be left unturned whenever the nation is preparing for international meets.
" The AFN is working round the clock to ensure that we do right thing this time around, we will apply the best global practices in all we do".
The AFN President said the board would always endeavor to be abreast with the happenings in athletics globally and be in tune with latest development in the sport to prepare the nations athletes adequately and on time.
