WAFU B U20: Flying Eagles Defender, Augustine Njoku Reveals Why Nigeria Drew Against Burkina Faso

May, 12 2022.

...Says team focus is now on semi final.

Flying Eagles right back Augustine Njoku has attributed loss of concentration in the second half as the reason why his team did not beat Burkina Faso in the 2-2 draw last night.

The Abia Warriors defender however posited that the team has quickly switched attentions to their all-important semifinal date, as they await their opponent for the tie.

He stated, "our team lost concentration a bit in the second half and they almost capitalized on it but thankfully our technical crew helped us get into the game with their instructions and match-reading. But that game is in the past now, the entire crew and players are focused on the semifinal. Our aim is to qualify for the U20 AFCON and we would keep fighting", he said.

Njoku started both games (Ghana and Burkina Faso) for the team and has posted solid displays in Niger Republic so far.
