Tragedy Struck In U23 Camp As 10 NPFL Players Were Dropped For discrepancies on passport

October, 16 2022.

It’s not looking good in the camp of the Olympic Eagles as several invited players by coach Salisu Yusuf has passport issues.

Majority of the invited players age on their passport doesn’t correlate with their age on TMS. To avoid embarrassment to the country, bulk of the players has been sent packing by the team’s secretary.

The likes of Kayode Bankole of Remo Stars, James Ajako of Akwa United, Maurice Chukwu of Rivers United, Haggai Katoh of Plateau United who is yet to resume will have no need to join the team. Samuel Kalu of Enyimba, Chidiebere Nwobodo of Rangers, Mustapha Jibril of Lobi Stars, Abdulsalam Abdulsalam of Wikki Tourists, Zulkifilu Mohammed Plateau United who is also yet to join will have no cause to join the team again, and Edwin Emelan of Calabar Rovers. All these players have been asked to vacate the camp of the U23.

The good news is that the 10 foreign based players will be able to fill the space, in the absence of these NPFL stars.
