Thirty Nigerian Elite Referees to Wear FIFA Badges on Wednesday, as Suspended Refs Face NFF Panel

All Federation International de Football (FIFA) elite Referees, and Assistant Referees, on the list for 2023 will on Wednesday, February 1st 2023, be decorated with their FIFA badges, at a ceremony to be held in Abuja.


The arbiters invited to the nation's capital are those who got listed, or relisted after the last selection excercise conducted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Nigeria Football Referees Association (NRA).


The list invited for the badging ceremony, include eleven 11-Aside Referees, eleven 11-Aside Assistant Referees, four Beach Soccer Referees, and Five 5-Aside (Futsal) Referees.


A media releases signed by the Secretary of the NFF Referees' Committee, and Head of Refereeing Unit at the NFF Sani Zubairu also invited all suspended elite Referees and Assistant Referees in the domestic leagues, to make themselves available, with a view to answering to charges of poor performances or officiating, in the respective games, they officiated in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL).


The Badging ceremony begins at 11am, while the interdicted referees will meet with the Miss Faith Irabor led NFF Referees' Committee at 3pm; and both events are scheduled to hold at the Glass House Secretariat of the NFF.


Venue for both functions remain General Secretary Conference Room, NFF Office, Package B, National Stadium, Abuja.


While congratulating all listed FIFA Referees, the NRA wishes all journey mercies.
