Two good heads they say, is better than one.
For the people of Rivers state, they have got not just two good heads but two great men whose achievements in their chosen endeavors, completely beats imaginations.
They are separated by age and class, they are different in size and weight but they share one thing in common.
They are both goal getters who will go at any lenght to ensure success is secured.
Barrister Nyesome Wike is the Governor of Rivers state while Barrister Christopher Green is the Chairman of Rivers State football Association and also doubles as chairman of Rivers United.
Wike stands out as the most successful and most accomplished governor in the history of Rivers state and one of the best ever in the history of the South South.
For eight years, his landmark policies have completely returned Rivers state to it's pride of place as the true giant of Nigeria economy. All these became possible because for once, a governor took time to identify true technocrats and gave them the opportunity to serve.
One of these experts is Barrister Christopher Green, a knight of Saint Mulumba who has made conscious efforts to learn his trade and today, has become a master from all ramification.
It is no coincidence that Green today occupies three key positions in a state littered with intelligent, educated and hardworking personalities. What should really be a problem is whether he has the capacity and ability to succeed when it truly matters.
As special adviser to Governor Wike on Real Madrid Academy, Chris Green is on the threshold of history as the first Nigerian to help actualize a very massive dream.
This is a dream that the state governor had nurtured for decades and believes will someday be the breeding ground for future champions. The whole idea behind the academy is instilling high level discipline in talented Nigeria kids and offering them a platform to achieve and fulfill their dreams.
Governor Wike didn't make much consultations before picking Green to supervise this multi billion dollars project. He is aware that this man remains the best chairman technical committee ever in the history of Nigeria football, he is also aware that during his time, he helped Nigeria qualify for two World Cup tournaments and won seventeen trophies alongside the then NFF president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari.
So when many said Green lobbied to become chairman of Rivers United, few wisemen cautioned them with a warning that his performance will surely vindicate or expose him.
That performance is now the talk of town in Rivers state and beyond as a certain Port Harcourt Based Club, Rivers United has taken the league by storm and are on the verge of being crowned champions of the 2021/2022 NPFL season.
The man behind this success story is Barrister Chris Green, who is using his intelligence, connections and calculations to win matches where his competitors are losing.
There is no need blowing his trumpet too soon, but with only few matches left to go, the time will certainly come when all those who vilified and insulted this man on assumption of office as Rivers United chairman will bury their heads in shame and salute Governor Wike for once again putting a round peg on a round hole.
