Terem Moffi's Double for Nice Against FC Barcel Underlines His Rising Profile as a Maturing Marksman

Terem Moffi's audacious first-half brace against FC Basel of Switzerland in the Europa Conference League, means he has now scored 3 goals in his first three (3) European matches for French Ligue 1 club, OGC Nice.


The talented Moffi lit up the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday night with a sensational bicycle kick to score for Nice, against FC Basel.


The highlight of the night was when the Nigeria international who had already scored once in the game, leapt acrobatically into the air in first-half stoppage time to nail an overhead volley that almost tore the Basel net.


Moffi's moment of magic put Nice 2-1 up before FC Basel rallied and hit back to earn a share of the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw in the quarter-final first leg.


Born in Calabar, on May 25, 1999 Teremas Igobor Moffi is a prolific 6ft 2 inches forward plays for Nice, but is on loan from Lorient, and has been capped nine (9) times by the Super Eagles of Nigeria, and has scored three (3) times, since , made his international debut in 2021.


In the 2022/23 French Ligue 1 Season, Terem Igobor Moffi has played 25 matches (plus 1 as a sub). He has had 28 shots on target from a total of 48 shots and have scored 16 goals (10.56 xG). Moffi averages 13 passes per match with a pass completion rate of 78%, and has 2 assists.


With this terrific form, many expect Moffi to score more vital goals for Nice, in the Ligue 1 run-in, and replicate same form for the Super Eagles in the remainder of the 2024 Afcon qualifiers, and the tournament proper in Côte d'Ivoire.
