Tama Aondofar Celebrates Newly Appointed US U16 National Team Coach

November, 20 2022.

Astute football administrator, Tama Aondofar spoke exclusively to www.ckdmedia.ng about the Nigerian-American newly appointed US U16 men’s National team coach, Michael Nsien.

“I want to celebrate my boy, I guess I can call him my boy, the newly appointed US U16 National team coach Michael Nsien Jr. I started my coaching career as a freshman at my Alma mater, Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1991. Our journey started in 1991 as freshmen in college. I worked with him as a youth player and proud to say I later carried him on with me to University of Dayton where we won the Atlantic 10 Championship and was Nationally Ranked 8 NCAA Div 1 Team in the country. I’m so proud of him for his achievements and accomplishments. He is a very talented young man, driven young man and lots credit to his proud father Mike Nsien Sr who pushed him and made sure he didn’t lose focus. I told him the sky is his starting point and don’t slow that momentum. We spoke extensively before and after his appointment, and I think he will do a lot of good stuffs.

“I recommended him to the Nigerian technical team but unfortunately, we tend to overlook some of our potential coaches, Young but experienced because of the level of exposure which we lack in Nigeria. I see him breaking a lot of barriers and coaching an European team in the near future, because he has educated himself, gone way and beyond to develop himself.

“I’m glad to say I impacted him in his game as a young man and his coaching actually started in our Academy. So, I’m glad to say we did a good job. We have alot of them we can brag about and were written for producing young talented players for the US National team. These are some of the things we’ll like to do here, but the opportunity isn’t given to some of us despite the wealth of experience and exposure overseas”.
