Super Eagles Coach Calls Terem Moffi to Replace Injured Boniface; Iheanacho Expected to Join Tuesday

Super Eagles gaffer, Jose Peseiro has called up Terem Moffi to the Super Eagles squad following an unfortunate injury to Boniface in the training session. The 24-year-old forward, known for his impressive performances with OGC Nice in France's Ligue 1, has been picked by the national team coach to join the squad for the AFCON.


Boniface sustained a groin injury during a training session in the team's Abu Dhabi and was ruled out for 6-8 weeks. He has now headed back to Germany for recovery.


In related news, Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to link up with the squad on Tuesday after being granted additional time to recover from a small knock. The Leicester City forward is a pivotal figure in the Super Eagles setup and is anticipated to join the team in Lagos ahead of their departure to Abidjan.


The Super Eagles are gearing up for the AFCON, and the inclusion of Moffi and the imminent return of Iheanacho are anticipated to fortify the team's offensive prowess.


Nigeria takes on Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, before lining up against Ivory coast and Guinea Bissau in Group A.
