Sunday Rotimi Call It Quits In Football

November, 28 2021.

Legendary Nigeria League Goalkeeper, Sunday Rotimi has finally call it quits with the round leather game.

Born in Kano, the shot stopper began his career with Yobe Deserts football club of Damaturu, far back in 1997 and ended his football career with Ethiopian side, Inda Selassie.

The high point of his career was his contribution to the U23 team that won silver medal at the 2003 All Africa games (COJA) in Abuja and also strings of appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Sunday Rotimi is cool headed, tall, gentle and professional to the core. Had a short stint in Israeli league for Rishon lezion FC in 2004 and was one of the most disciplined players ever to have kept for the NPFL.

He is truly a rare gem of round leather game, having featured for the likes of Enyimba FC, Plateau United, Elkanemi Warriors, Sunshine Stars, Dolphins FC and Rivers United where he will now serve as assistant goalkeeper trainer.
