Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo who just signed three (3) years contract to join Turkish Super Liga giants, Kasimpasa Football Club for a third stint says he is in Cloud 9 and still basking in the euphoria of returning to a club he says will forever be part of him.
Speaking to www.ckdmedia.ng, the Super Eagles central defender who left Spain's Segunda division side CD Leganés after five years said; "Kasimpasa Football Club is a part of me, a team I cherish and will continue to cherish so much. Even after leaving Kasimpasa for the first and second time, I kept following their progress. Rejoining the club for a third time makes it obvious that my relationship with the team is tacit and mutually beneficial and I'm eagerly looking forward to wearing the Blue-and-White jersey again".
Omeruo who won the 2013 Afcon title with the Super Eagles, who then guided by late Stephen Keshi, said at the end of his Leganés contract, he opted to return to Kasimpasa, despite the number of prospective clubs queueing up to procure his services. "The offer they made me was also good and I am glad to have signed up to June 30, 2026".
Super Eagles winger, Chidera Ejuke has also signed a year deal with Belgian giants, Royal Antwerp. The deal was brokered by famous FIFA Licensed Agent
Atta Aneke.
Ejuke, a graduate of the Ikon Allah Academy is excited with the reality of starting a new chapter as a professional footballer in Belgium.
Speaking about Ejuke, the Chairman of Ikon Allah Academy; Ayi Mohammed had this to say; "I’m happy for Ejuke, and for the progress he's made in Belgium. He's a good player and a very humble chap, while he was here with us at my academy. All I can, is to wish him the best in his new club”.
Another Nigerian International that has moved is Super Eagles right-back, Ola Aina. The former Torino of Italy and Fulham of England defender signed for Nothingham Forest, where he will link up with three other Super Eagles stars, Taiwo Awoniyi, Emmanuel Denise and Kelechi Iheanacho who recently joined ranks with the twice UEFA Champions League winners, from relegated Leicester City.
Ola Aina completed his move to the English Premiership Club after the expiration of a 12 month loan spell at Torino, having initially joined the Italy Serie A side from Chelsea in 2018.
Forest Head Coach, Steve Cooper had this to say of Aina; "he's a versatile player who has good experience of the Premier League and Serie A. So, he's a really good addition, and his athleticism while playing from the back, will definitely make the team stronger."
The England born defender had this to say after signing the dotted lines, "it's exciting to be back, and to play in the Premier League again. It's the best league in the world and I always want to challenge myself".
Fulham Football Club of England has announced the capture of Calvin Bassey in a deal that will keep the defender who joined from Ajax Amsterdam at Cravens Cottage till 2027, with an option of one year extension.
The Super Eagles defender who moved after seeing out his contact at Ajax, had this to say; "I know how big, a club Fulham is. I didn't have to think much about it before agreeing the move".
Fulham's Sporting Director, Tony Khan said "Calvin has been a top target for us, so we're all delighted that he's committed for the long term with us, at Fulham, and we're looking forward to watching him progress in his career".
Veteran Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun has returned to Rangers of Glasgow, having completed a season long deal at Queen's Park Rangers.
The 2022 Scottish Cup winner is returning to the Ibrox Stadium from the English Championship side, QPR said he was amazed when he was told of his imminent return to the SPL; "I'm happy and grateful to get the privilege to wear the colours again. I wasn't expecting it, but there was not too much to think about really, and my love for the club has never been in doubt. My agent told me I will be returning to the Ibrox on a short contract."
Samuel Chukwueze is gradually settling down in Italy, following his 20 million move from Villarreal of Spain to AC Milan. Having inked a long term contract at Casa Milan, the Super Eagles winger was given Shirt No.21 and has been training alone, while the rest of his new teammates were away on a Pre-season tour.
Commenting about his agreeing the deal which had 8 million add ons, Chukwueze said his compatriot, Victor Osimhen talked him into it, by urging him not to hesitate in joining the Milan giants. Aside this, he said, "Victor told me good things about the Seria A, AC Milan and their fans. We were teammates right from U-17 level and we are still very good friends".
Chukwueze who shown brightly for the Yellow Submarines last season, and attracted interest from Real Madrid as well. His going to Italy means all three of the Super Eagles starting front line, could now be in the Serie A, with Ademola Lookman still in the books of Atalanta Bergamo.
