Sprinters Godson Brume, Favour Ashe & Udodi Onwuzurike Hit Top Form, Ahead of Worlds in Budapest

Team Nigeria youngsters have taken their performances in the sprints to new heights with impressive performances, and by returning eye-catching times at meetings, in the United States.

Only on Wednesday, the duo of Godson Brume 9.93 Secs, and Favour Ashe - 9.96 Secs (+1.3) became the latest Nigerian athletes to ran the men's 100 meters under 10 Secs.

In fact, Brume would have had a better timing, had he not slowed down a bit, in apparent celebration, before crossing the finishing line in Austin, Texas, USA.

Remarkably, the timings secured for both sprinters automatic tickets to the World Athletics Champions in Budapest, Hungary, reports.

Similarly, up and coming speed star, Udodi Onwuzurike ran a huge Personal Best to lead qualification in the men's 200 meters, at the American NCAA Championships.

His time of 19.76 Secs is ranked as the 3rd fastest time in collegiate history and the second fastest time in the world this year, behind Noah Lyles! report.

The Nigerian and African Record for men's 200 meters is 19.73 Secs, set by Divine Oduduru in 2019; while the world record stands at, 19.19 seconds, and was set by Jamaican, Usain Bolt at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics, held in Berlin, Germany.
