Victor Osimhen was again on the scorers' sheet as Italian champions, SSC Napoli were on the receiving end of an unlikely 3-1 thrashing, handed them by Fiorentina at their home ground, the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, in Naples.
Only on Friday night, Osimhen was unveiled as the only African player in the FIFA 12-man shortlist for the World Best footballer of the year (2023), and that apparently brought a measure of good cheer to the Super Eagles number nine, who was embittered by the club's social media handlers, for apparently mocking him on Tik Tok, after a crucial penalty miss in the loss away to Bologna.
But the 26-year-old banished the ghost of that penalty miss on Sunday, although the Scudetto holders, ended the game as losers.
Josip Brekalo put Fiorentina ahead in the 7th minute, Victor Osimhen drew the Italian champions level, five (5) minutes into first half added time and that was from 12 yards, his first penalty for Napoli since his last miss and the ferocious controversy that trailed it.

Nicolas Gonzalez then scored deep into added time to seel the road win for Fiorentina who moved up to fourth on 17 points, in the Italian Serie A log, while leapfrogging the Champions, who stayed on 14 points from eight matches played so far, and are now seven points adrift of the leaders, AC Milan.
