Saudi Arabian League: Ighalo's Fantastic Brace Makes Him Joint Highest Scorer

April, 12 2023.

Veteran Nigerian International, Odion Ighalo is now joint highest goal scorer in the Saudi Arabian Pro-League, after his well taken double last Tuesday against Al Feyhain took his tally of the season to 16 goals.

Not minding the inconsistent form of Al-Hilal this season, Ighalo has been in good form, as he strives to defend the highest goal scorer award he received last season, having scored 20 goals.

The former Manchester United's player, Ighalo has been a top-notch goalscorer in whichever league he has played in, and remains so in his fourth season in the Saudi Pro League.

Also in the race for the Golden Boot in the Saudi Arabian top flight is another former Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr, who joined in January, and has netted 11 times in 10 games so far.

Expectedly, the Portugal captain have bought attention unlike ever before to the scramble for the Golden Boot - and most would expect him to win it.

However, this is also an opportunity for other players like Ighalo to shine in the limelight.

The likes of Anderson Talisca, Carlos, Abderrazak Hamdallah, and others have been setting the league on fire with their excellent performances and will have additional motivation with Ronaldo's arrival and latest goal scoring form of Ighalo, who is just 4 strikes shy of his tally of 20 goals, last term.

Before the January transfer window, Brazilian, Anderson Talisca (now with 16 goals) was Al-Nassr's ace, and his goals helped his team top the table and him the goalscoring charts, until Odion Ighalo scored twice on to go level with him, for now.
