Aftermath of the Super Eagles of Nigeria one all draw against Cape Verde in the last Group C game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Coach Gernot Rohr has expressed satisfaction with the team’s result which was enough to guarantee qualification ticket to the next round of the qualifiers.

Eagles were held by Cape Verde on Tuesday evening in Lagos which was enough for Nigeria to top a group involving Cape Verde, Liberia and Central Africa Republic with a total of 13 points.

The three times African champions will head to the next qualifying round for Qatar World Cup in March as group winners but will be drawn in the final playoff in March with the five winners over two legs progressing to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November 2022.

Having face strong criticism in recent times, Rohr believes the draw wasnt a bad result while rueing his side missed chances.

"Sometimes a draw is like a victory. It was the case today. We knew a draw will qualify us. It was not an easy game because Cape Verde have a very good technical team".

“They scored when we believed we had the match under control and missed a lot of chances in the first half. We deserved to score a second goal but when it did not come, we had to defend the draw and the players did it very well.” He Said.

Nigeria ended their World Cup qualifying campaign unbeaten with four wins, one draw and one defeat out of their matches.
