Port Harcourt based side, Rivers United have secured their first ever NPFL title, with their crown sealed after Plateau United's 2-1 loss away at Akwa United.
The Pride of Rivers were confirmed champions on Saturday after their closest rivals Plateau United fell 10 points behind them, with three games left for the Jos based side.
The Stanley Eguma-led side are winning their first title as a club under the auspices of Rivers United, following the merger of Sharks and Dolphins to give birth to the team.
In fulfilment of their matchday 35 fixtures, Rivers United will travel to face Nassarawa United while they play at home for the first time as champions in match day 36.
Rivers currently have 71 points with 34 games played while Plateau United are second with 61 points after 35 games.
