Rivers United Players Get $20,000 Each, With Pre-Season Tour of Spain Planned for the Team

NPFL champions, Rivers United have been showered with $20,000 each for their heroics in the just concluded 2021/2022 season.

The Pride of Rivers got the largesse from the Rivers State Government, as Governor Nyesom Wike expressed delight with the team's performances in the just concluded season.

The team will also go on a two weeks training tour in Madrid, Spain as part of preparations for their 2022/2023 CAF Champions League campaign.

"Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike rewards members of Rivers United FC with $20,000 each for winning the NPFL22 season," the club announced via its Facebook page.

"He says team will stay two weeks in Madrid to prepare for next season's CAF Champions League."

He also conferred on each member of the team the Governors Merit Service Award (GMSA).
