Rivers United Hails Chris Green's Reappointment as Rivers State Commissioner for Sports

The management of Rivers United, has congratulated Barrister Christopher Green for his reappointment as the Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State, by Governor Sim Fubara.

Green was first appointed to the position in July last year by the immediate past Governor of the state, Barrister Nyesom Wike, reports.

But following a change of guard, which saw Wike replaced by Fubara at the Rivers State government house, Green has been added to the number of former commissioners, reappointed to serve in their previous roles.

Those reappointed on May 30th are Professor Zacheaus Adangor (SAN), who served as the Attorney General; George Kelly-Alabo, the immediate past Commissioner for Works, Professor Chinedu Mmon, the immediate past Commissioner for Education and Isaac Kamalu, the former Commissioner for Finance.

In a statement, the General Manager of Rivers United FC, Dr Okey Kpalukwu described the reapportionment of Green as well deserved and a proof of the resolve by the Fubara led PDP administration to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor.

"On behalf of the management, technical crew, players, backroom staff and supporters of Rivers United FC, We congratulate a gentleman of intrepidity and great intelligence, an astute sports administrator and a development expert, Barrister Chris Green, on his reappointment as Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State", he noted.

The General Manager, backed Green to excel in the task ahead, by drawing from his experience, capacity gathered over the years, we have no doubt that you will bring your wealth of experience garnered over the years, as a member of the Board of the NFF, Chairman Technical Committee of the NFF, and Chairman of the Board of Rivers United, before he was first appointed to serve as sports commissioner.
