Relief for Coach Bala Nikyu as Nasarawa Beats Kwara Utd; Obioma Nets 5th Goal as Enyimba Wins

A goal scored on either side of halftime, by King Osanga 10th minute, and Chinedu Ohanachom 54th minute gave Nasarawa United a much needed 2-0 victory over Kwara United, in a Day 7 match in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), played at the new Jos Stadium.


Victory for Nasarawa United, gave them their first three points of a season, which had seen them draw once, and lost 5 other games.


Meanwhile, Seasoned campaigners, Enyimba of Aba edged Gombe United 2-1 at the Pantami Stadium, in Gombe in the day's only other fixture.


Enyimba fought back from conceding in the 12th minute, to beating Gombe United, with Chukwuemeka Obioma netting the winner in the Group A encounter, to take his tally for the season to 5 goals.


Other fixtures in Group A, are to be decided on Sunday, when fumbling Enugu Rangers must be at their best to tame promoted Doma United FC, who caused a stair last Sunday, by defeating Rivers United 2-1 in Gombe.


The Rangers vs Doma United game in Awka kicks off at 3pm, same time allotted to the tie Aba, where Abia Warriors will host Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.

In the same vain, all other Group B matches are to be played on Sunday:


Lobi Stars stars will battle Dakakda FC in Jos; Elkanemi Warriors and Akwa United will clash behind closed doors in Maiduguri; while

Bendel Insurance takes on Shootings Stars Sports Club, in Ibadan in a potentially explosive fixture, while Sunshine Stars slug it out with Niger Tornadoes of Minna, which will be looking to quickly return to winning ways, in Akure.
