New signing Alhassan Yusuf has described himself as “hungry” and hopes to help ambitious Belgian club Antwerp move on to higher glory.
Yusuf, 21, is set to make his Antwerp debut today at Standard Liege after he completed a 1.5 Million Euros transfer from Swedish club IFK Goteborg.
The former FC Hearts midfielder while describing himself as “energetic, aggressive and hungry”, said he hopes to achieve great things at his new club.
“This is a big opportunity to show my talent and also help the club take the next step,” he told his club’s TV.
He will play as a box-to-box midfielder for the team, who will be desperate to get a result today at Standard Liege after they lost their opening two matches of the new season.
Last season, Antwerp finished third in the championship playoffs and were beaten in the Belgium Cup Final.
They will feature in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
