Ramat Cup: Adamawa, Rivers In Poor Start As Tournament Formally Kicks Off

It was a bittersweet experience for Nigerian fans on Monday after waiting anxiously for the satisfactory feeling football can offer but to some, God of Soccer proved otherwise


It all happened at the Kano Pillars Stadium in Sabon Gari with football followers drumming support for their darling teams


The 2022 Ramat Cup tournament which was officially declared open by the Vice President North Central Zone Honourable Mustapha Allah-Dey saw football addicts yearning for more.


During the Opening Ceremony, gaily dressed youths from 20 states took part in a colourful match past that revealed a deep sense of National unity.


As the excitement gets more intense, the team took to the pitch .First was the host Kano U-16 team, a squad gifted with ball jugglers who truly gave a good account of themselves


After a tough challenge, Rivers State could not hold their own as the Ganduje boys humiliated them by 3 goals to nothing


In the second Match, the Federal Capital Territory U-16 boys overpowered their Yobe counterparts 2-0


For Benue State it was a very bad day. They lost 2-1 to Ogun State.

The Adamawa state team were not different, despite a formidable display, they lost 2-0 to Gombe youth team


Everyone had predicted that Adamawa will put up a strong fight, but they have themselves to blame for their inability to perfect their finishing

Not minding the disappointment to some fans YSFON National Secretary Olorogun Patrick Okpavuerhe says the fans should expect More upsets on Tomorrow when Benue Confront Jigawa, Ogun play Plateau, Sokoto square up against Abia, amongst others. Most of the teams are ready to unleash their game plan since the competition is getting more interesting
