Poor Recruitment is Our Greatest Undoing this Season - Kano Pillars Coach, Ibrahim Musa

May, 15 2022.

With football enthusiasts across the country wondering why giant, Kano Pillars has struggled with form this season, Coach Ibrahim Musa has attributed poor recruitment as the reason for the team's problem this campaign.

Asked about the sloppy displays, Musa explained that; “Poor recruitment is what is affecting us now. We did poor recruitments. However, it's not time to lament, we just need to work our way out of this problem, then later, we’ll apportion blames".

"For now, we cannot blame players, or coaches or management or the Government. Everyone need to put their hands on deck to help Pillars get out of this position", he added.

After Kano Pillars loss to MFM of Lagos, the coach expressed his dismay, stating that they targeted four matches to change their fortunes (Niger Tornadoes, Sunshine Stars, Kwara United and MFM). The team could only pick two wins against Sunshine Stars and Kwara United at home but lost to Niger Tornadoes and MFM away from home.

The Pillars chief coach stated that the team need to win games away from home, as long as other teams can pick up points against them, they should also do same.

He said the MFM game was winnable but unfortunately they threw it away.

PIllars are 19th after 27 games, amassing 29 points. The team would need to turn their fortunes around within the next 11 games to maintain their topflight status.
