Plethora of Clubs Jostling for the Signature of Kenneth Omeruo

July, 2 2023.

It’s clear that Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo will finally bid goodbye to Spanish second division club, Laganés FC, as host of clubs in Europe are jostling for the signature of the former Chelsea of England Centre-half.

According to a representative of the defender and Omeruo himself, both spoke with www.ckdmedia.ng, and believes that after four seasons with Leganés, the time to seek a new challenge is now.

"Yeah, it's true that I want to leave Leganés so as to fulfill my desire for a new experience, a fresh environment and further my career as a footballer. Leganés has been more like a home to me, having played there since 2019", Omeruo said.

According to him, a lot still needs to be done, before his aspiration of a dream move can be realized.

"Let's see how it's going to pan out, mine is to play football, while my agent is in charge of my movement. So when the time comes, everyone will know, but for now I'm still a Leganés player and hopefully, a deal to see me play elsewhere next season would be struck soon", the former Flying Eagles star added.

The CD Leganés of Spain defender, Omeruo is sorted for by Kasımpaşa in the Turkish Super Liga, and Saudi Arabia premier league, with Al Hilal.

Omeruo who spoke to www.ckdmedia.ng on his return to Nigeria from Seychelles, said he had a refreshing summer Vacation, alongside Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi whose own future and that of Kelechi Iheanacho are shrouded in uncertainties ahead of next season, following the relegation of the club from the English Premier League, at the end of last season.
