Ottasolo will bounce back; fatigue was our greatest undoing says Gabriel Davies

October, 13 2021.

Following the 2-0 lost to Remo Stars, in the ongoing Dapo Abiodun Pre-season Tournament in Ijebu-Ode, Ottasolo FC chairman, Otunba Gabriel Davies has attributed his team loss to fatigue while assuring that Ottasolo will bounce back in the next game.

Ottasolo conceded two second half goals to give Remo Stars the opportunity to top the Group B table as NPFL new Boys, Niger Tornadoes shared the spoils with MFM after playing a goalless draw in the second game of the group.

Lagos based Ottasolo FC will have the opportunity to redeem their image when they trade tackles against MFM FC on the matchday two, as the tournament continued on Wednesday.

Speaking with Ottasolo Media after the loss to Remo Stars, Ottasolo FC chairman Otunba Gabriel Davies said,

"No doubt, we lost to a better and more tactical team. My players gave their best against a NPFL team, I must give kudos to them.

"The fans will see a better Ottasolo in the next game. Like I always say, my team is still a work-in-progress, our target is to build a team that will definitely become a force to reckon with as far as global football is concerned and I am sure we'll get there. He assured

He continued by saying, it could have turned out to be a positive result for his team but fatigue caught up with his players.

"You could see that the boys were at their 100 percent in the first half but their pace slowed down in the second half as a result of fatigue. They were on the road for five hours and didn't have time to rest because they went straight to the pitch for shake-up as they arrived Ijebu. He explained

"We have picked the positives from the match and will definitely work on the negatives in order to have a better outing in the subsequent games. He posited.

Otunba Gabriel, concluded by praising the organisers Otunba Tade Azeez, chairman Referees Association of Nigeria who is the brain behind Dapo Abiodun Pre-season tournament.

"I must give Kudos to Otunba Tade Azeez and other brains behind this wonderful initiative, they have done pretty well to have brought top clubs from different parts of Nigeria to Ijebu-Ode for a showpiece like this.

"They are actually promoting Nigeria football and no doubt this kind of tournament will help most of the clubs to have a befitting preparation ahead of the new football season that is imminent.

Ottasolo FC are at the bottom of Group B table with zero point, while Remo Stars are on top with 3 points, MFM and Niger Tornadoes are 2nd and 3rd respectively with one point apiece and Sunshine Stars who were on bye, occupied the 4th position.
