Ottasolo GM wanted more from players, despite 100% winning record in the Preliminary Stage

The general manager of Ottasolo FC, Johm Marley has expressed his dissatisfaction with the players' performance despite winning all their three Group stage matches in the ongoing Ekofootball Pre-season Tournament at the Teslim Balogun.

In form Ottasolo FC beat G12 1 - 0 in the 2nd final Group A match to zoom to the Semifinals of the Eko Football NNL Pre-season Tourney with 100 percent winning record in the preliminary stage.

While speaking with Ottasolo Media immediately after the match the Mr. John Marley said,

"I must give kudos to the boys for maintaining their 100% percent winning record in the preliminary stage however, I am not satisfied with their performance as a team.

"Most of the players still lacked that confidence on the ball. We should have killed the game before half time but they felt satisfied with the lone goal and our opponents took advantage, grew in confidence in the second half mounted pressure on us.

"We still have a long way to go and we will definitely work on the lapses before the league commences but I am sure we will be ready in no time.

The general manager showered encomium on the Lagos State FA for Organizing this kind of competition for the NNL teams in Lagos in order to perfect preparations and scout for players to beef up their squad ahead of the commencement of the Nigeria National League season that is imminent

"On behalf of Ottasolo FC chairman, Otunba Gabriel Davies, I wish to commend Lagos State FA under the watchful eyes of Barrister Seyi Akinwumi who is also the NFF First Vice President for Organizing this wonderful Pre-season Tournament for NNL teams.

"By and large, we have gained from the tournament as the coach have been able to test new players and discern the depth of his squad.

"We have used the tournament to identify our areas of weakness and still using the tournament to fix it. Hence, the tournament came at the right time, that's why we are commending the organizers. The GM concluded

G12 FC who were on 4 points on the Group A table before the match needed at least a point in the game to leapfrog Smart City FC who are levelled on point with them after defeating Joy Cometh 1 - 0 in the 1st final group A game on Sunday morning.

However, Ottasolo FC showed class and proved their dominance by defeating G12 FC 1 - 0 courtesy of a first half strike by Aremu Idowu who poked home from a goal mouth scramble as G12 failed to clear their line.

On the back of this victory, Ottasolo FC are sitting comfortably on top of Group A table with 9 points picked from possible Nine.

Ottasolo FC descended on their opponents like a house on fire as they created some scoring opportunities in the early minutes of the proceedings but could not make them count.

G12 FC can only depend on counter-attacking moves as they were forced back to their half in order to absorb the pressure from their fierce opponent.

After missing series of scoring chances, 'The Solo Boys' finally found the back of the net through Aremu Idowu who tapped home from close range after G12 defenders could not clear their line to give Ottasolo their deserved lead on 28th minute.

G12 FC threw more men forward as they continue to search for equalizer but the resolutedefense of Ottasolo FC lead by Rilwan Olaniyan thwart every threat thrown at them by the opponents.

Ottasolo FC headed to the tunnel with their noses in front as the CR signalled for half time break.

On resumption both teams made changes to their squad as they introduced fresh legs to add more energy to their respective teams.

G12 dominated the second half with countless scoring opportunities but Ottasolo would always defend well to maintain their slender lead.

G12 poked and knocked but could not go through the defense of Ottasolo that proved to be a hard nut break as the game ended 1 - 0 in favour of Ottasolo FC.

Ottasolo FC will battle the runner-up from Group B in one of the Semifinals of the ongoing Ekofootball NNL Pre-season Tournament at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
