Remo Stars shot stopper, Kayode Bankole has been awarded the CKDMedia Goalkeeper of the season award, after a brilliant season in between the sticks for Remo Stars.
Bankole kept a joint high 16 clean sheets in the league, ending his NPFL debut season on a high with match-winning saves and season-defining reflexes that helped the Sky Blues.
The former Ottasolo Goal tender has been with Remo Stars right from their days in the lower division. He didn't only help them secure promotion, he also helped the team nail a continental ticket, which came as a surprise to many.
Bankole's talent over the years has never gone unnoticed, which is attested to by his invitation to Ladan Bosso's Flying Eagles team that went to Benin Republic. He only missed out on the last minute, due to administrative issues.
The Lagos born keeper stood out in the league, and shine brightly inspite of the avalanche of top goalkeepers in the league.
NPFL faithfuls are already looking forward to how he'd perform in the continent, if he remains in Ikenne. It's a no-brainer, he was one of Remo's best players last season and will be instrumental to them in the upcoming season.
