February, 11 2023.
All but one fixture in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will go down at designated match venues, across the country, this weekend.
The only encounter postponed indefinitely by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the League, is that between Bayelsa United of Yenagoa and Rivers United of Port Harcourt.
While Rivers United are in Brazzaville for their Day-1 game against Diables Noirs of Congo in the 2023 CAF Confederation Cup; Bayelsa United are still mourning after the sudden demise of their Goalkeepers trainer, Ernest Teigbanyo, who passed after a brief illness.
His death came less than 10 days after the death of Dr. Kingsley Nnaemeka Eneogwe, of Abia State Referees' Council who died in a fatal auto crash in Kogi, on his way back home, from Kaduna, where he officiated the NPFL Day 5 derby, between Nasarawa United and Plateau United.
In matches that will go ahead on Saturday; Enyimba of Aba are on the prowl at the Pantami Stadium against a very sound Gombe United side, whose defensive masterclass in Benin, earned them a worthy goalless draw to an Imperious Bendel Insurance side, last weekend.
In Group A, troubled Nasarawa United, with just a solitary point from six matches so far, are back in Jos for a must win tie against Kwara United.
Given that the Technical Crew headed by Coach Bala Nkiyu are playing the last of the three match ultimatum given to them to turn around the fortunes of the Solid Miners, anything short of victory today, could be the last straw to break the back of the camel.
All other Day-7 fixtures are scheduled for Sunday.
