NPFL Biggest MD 1 Fixture In Jos: Nasarawa United Vs Enyimba Int’l Now Saturday 14th Jan., 2023

January, 12 2022.

The encounter between Nasarawa United of Lafia rated by most pundits as the biggest Day 1 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and earlier billed for Sunday, January 8th, 2023 has been rescheduled.

A release to this effect as signed by the Chief Operating Officer of the Interim Management Committee of the League, and copied all the concerned parties and State Football Associations, had it that the match will now be played on Saturday 14th, 2023 in Jos.

Enyimba of Aba are eight time Champions of the League, and are guests of Nasarawa United who are still in a haunt of their first title.

Despite appearing to be the underdogs in the tie, Head Coach of the Solid Miners, Bala Nikyu is optimistic his side can win their season opener, by triumphing over the Aba People's Elephant.

"As a team, we will have to be at our best against the seasoned campaigners. We have to do everything possible to win it for ourselves and fans", Coach Nikyu said.

Nasarawa United opted to host their season opener and the rest of their home games at their adopted home, the Zaria Road Stadium, Jos.

The Head Coach is however worried over the inability of three of his players currently at the Flying Eagles camp in Abuja, preparing for the CAF U20 Cup of Nations, billed to kick-off on January 18th in Egypt.

The trio are Benjamin Fredrick, Onuche Ogbenu and Francis Ayuba. Should they finally arrive in good time, all three players are expected to make their NPFL debut, against Enyimba on Saturday.

Where will the pendulum rest at, after swinging?

Well 90 minutes + Added time will tell.
