_Wikki Tourists on the Brink, as Enyimba's Obioma Grabs Season's First Hat-Trick

With a game to the end of the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) regular season, the identity of virtually all four sides to be relegated from Group A and B, are now know.

From Group B, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi is all but relegated, along with Dakadda FC of Uyo, while Nasarawa United and El-kanemi Warriors who returned to the top flight at the end of the last NNL Season, are the teams whose drop to the second tier league have been sealed.

In penultimate games of the season played this weekend, Kwara United defeated Nasarawa United 1-0 in Ilorin, to retain their premier league status, while Akwa United humbled El-kanemi Warriors 2-0 in Uyo to boost their chances of qualifying for the top six.

Dakkada FC had on Saturday in Uyo drawn 1-1 with Group B log leaders, Lobi Stars to become the first side to be officially relegated, and unless they can win their final game of the season, with a cricket score, Wikki Tourists will join them in the NNL, that's despite thrashing Abia Warriors 4-0 in Bauchi on Sunday.

With so many outstanding games in both groups, only Bendel Insurance who were held 1-1 by 3SC of Ibadan, are certain of their place in the Super Six, with 33 points.

The trio of Enyimba of Aba, Akwa United of Uyo and Remo Stars of Ikene are still with a chance of finishing in the top 3, but Plateau United who slumped 1-2 to Remo Stars in Jos, are out of reckoning.

Enyimba helped by Chukwuemeka Obioma who netted the first hat-trick of the campaign, while drubbing Gombe United 5-0 in the early kick-off stayed 2nd on 31 points; while Obioma took his tally for the season to 14 goals, and setting for himself a new season high goal scoring record. www.ckdmedia.ng report.

Enugu Rangers surprisingly held promoted high-flyers Doma United 0-0 in Gombe; Niger Tornadoes fell 0-2 to Sunshine Stars of Akure in Kaduna; while Rivers United with 3 games in hand edged 10-man Bayelsa United in Port Harcourt, to stay 2nd on the Group B log, 4 points adrift of Lobi Stars; and level on points with Doma United, who reclined to 3rd with inferior goals difference.
