Veteran journalists in Nigeria has back Emmanuel Amuneke for Super Eagles managerial Role.


Discussing a way forward for the Super Eagles discussion erupt over who takes over the job from Rohr , but it seems Coach Emmanuel Amuneke is just the right candidate for the job.


His experience and having played the game to the top level . He won a major FIFA World cup at the youth level. Bulk of the players in the team now were discovered by him including Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, Kingsley Micheal, Chigozie Awaziem and hosts of others.


According to veteran complete Sports Journalist, Richard Jideaka who mentioned giving a local coach a chance may bring back the glory of Late Stephen Keshi who won the AFCON and qualified for the world cup.


He said the NFF should avoid being sentimental unlike previous occasion and consider Amuneke for the job on an interim basis having had good stints with the Tanzania National Team as head coach and with an Egyptian Clubside as Technical Director.


Daily Trust David Ngobua opined that Emmanuel Amuneke has proved beyond doubts that he has the charisma to cope with the challenges facing Nigeria football having move aboard it during his stint with the Golden Eaglets.


Mohammed Issa of Brila FM was similarly interested in Amuneke’s plight. He recalled how he laboured with the National U17 team to win the world cup.

Edobor, in his assessment noted it's time to rally support for an indigenous coach to be appointed to the National team particularly a coach of Amuneke standard as he laments that Foreign coaches over the years has not added real value to Nigeria Football.
