Ladan Bosso has officially signed as the new head coach of NPFL side Bayelsa United. This move marks an interesting turn in the NPFL as Bosso, much like Imama Amapakabo, returns to the league. Imama Amapakabo recently inked a two-year deal with Abia Warriors.
Both coaches bring a wealth of experience to their respective teams, having previously coached the Nigerian national team.
Ladan Bosso, well-known for his multiple stints with Nigeria's U20 Flying Eagles, including memorable campaigns in 2007 and last year in Argentina, will now bring his expertise to Bayelsa United.
Imama Amapakabo, on the other hand, has held roles as coach of the U23 team, head coach of the home-based Super Eagles, and chief coach of the Super Eagles.
This development promises to add more intrigue to the NPFL, making the upcoming season one to watch. Already, ex-international Finidi George has joined Rivers United, adding further excitement to the league.
With seasoned figures like Emmanuel Amuneke, Nduka Ugbade, and Salisu Yusuf also in the mix, there is speculation about whether these experienced names will pick up NPFL teams to further elevate the league's profile.
Meanwhile, younger coaches like reigning champion Fedilis Illechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Paul Offor, and Yemi Daniel are challenging the status quo, bringing fresh energy and innovation to the league.
The blend of experienced and emerging coaching talent sets the stage for a thrilling NPFL season ahead.
