Ndidi Out Of AFCON, As Alhassan Yusuf Sets To Hit Dubai

Updated: Jan 3

January, 2 2024.

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi will no longer play a role in the forthcoming AFCON in Ivory Coast, due to injury he sustained in his club, that prevented him from being part of Leicester City home win against Huddersfield on Monday night.

It would be recalled that Ndidi was injured during the last World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe. This is not a good news, knowing fully well that he has been an integral member of the Super Eagles team for more than five years.

Alhasssan Yusuf has been having an impressive season with Royal Antwerp of Belgium. The Kano born Defensive midfielder will be coming to the camp of the Super Eagles for the first time. Can he fill the gap of Wilfred Ndidi?

One might be thinking that Kelechi Nwakali who was part of the last edition of the Nations Cup, should be given an opportunity to get a recall back to the team.
