Sequel to his appointment as the new chairman of Katsina United FC, Surajo Umar Baba has hit the ground running to ensure Katsina United gain promotion back to the Nugeria Elite League as he revealed his plans that will reposition the team and restore its lost glory.
The newly appointed chairman inherited Katsina United after the team was relegated to the second tier league from the Nigeria top flight league and he has mandated himself to restore the team back to the NPFL.
Umar Baba who was the head of the contigents that represented Katsina State at the just concluded Nigeria Premier League Playoff Championship hosted at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos made this know during an interactive session with the pressmen.
According to the young and vibrant chairman;
"I think it's a good thing that we have come on board and we want to hit the ground running Immediately in order for us to be able to achieve our target. Our major target is to restore the lost glory of Katsina United.
"The team has suffered some adverse achievements inbrecent seasons but we have put some modalities in place in order for us to be able to reposition the status of the team.
"Our priority now is to gain promotion back to the NPFL and we are just a step away from achieving that as you can see, Katsina United have qualified for the NNL Playoff Championship and we will do our best to ensure that we pick one of the available tickets to the Nigeria Premier League. He assured.
The Chanji Boys have booked their place in the NNL Super Eight Championship alongside 7 other teams as they emerged the winner of NNL Northern Conference Group A2 with 21 points amassed from 10 games. They won 6, drawn 3 and lost just 1.
