Calvin Ughelumba Bassey is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish Premiership side Rangers. He is the new player that has replaced Zaidu Sanusi in the squad.
Bassey was born in Italy and raised in England to Nigerian parents. The 21 year old showed his talent in the Leicester City academy before moving to Scottish Champions Rangers in 2020.
He made his professional debut with the ibrox side. The defender is versatile at left back and centre back. Seven of his appearances this season have come in the full back position where he registered two assists.
Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo are teammates with Calvin Bassey.
We hope the defender will make his competitive debut against CAR in 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, set to come up on October 7 and 10.
