Lookman Helps Atalanta Fly, Osimhen Planks Roma as Race for Euro Spots Hots Up in Italy

Super Eagles forwards, Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen were on song on match day 34 of the Italian Serie A helping their sides clinch points over the weekend.


Reigning African footballer of the year, Victor Osimhen carried Napoli on his back en route their 2-2 at home to AS Roma, as he scored a penalty in the 84th minute to give his side a 2-1 lead. However Tammy Abraham made it 2-2 four minutes later. Osimhen made 4 key passes and created 2 big chances in the game.


Napoli are now 10th and are 5 points off Lazio occupying the last euro spot.


Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman returned to the starting lineup in Atalanta’s 2-0 win against Empoli.

The 26 year old starred for 84 minutes, finding the back of the next for Atalanta’s second goal. He had 63 touches in the game with a pass accuracy of 78%. The win means Atalanta are now 6th, two points off the Europa league spot occupied by AS Roma.


The two Nigerians will be battling in the last 4 games of the season to secure best position possible for their sides.


Osimhen now has 14 league goals and 3 assists while Lookman has amassed 9 goals and 6 assists.
