Lobi Stars striker, Ifeanyi Ogba who scored his maiden NPFL goal that secured all the three points for the Pride of Benue against Shooting Stars of Ibadan in an NPFL matchday three encounter decided at Aper-Aku Stadium in Makurdi has dedicated the goal to his late mum.
The Oluyole Warriors drew the first blood in the encounter through Akilu Mohammed who benefited from a goal mouth scramble as Lobi Stars defenders ball watch to give the visitors the lead with just 5 minutes before halftime break.
Consequently, Lobi Stars Adams Olamilekan restored parity on 61st minute when he connected well to a clever pass from Gabriel Wasa and poked his attempt beyond Goalkeeper Tambe for the equalizer.
Former Ottasolo FC of Lagos striker, Ifeanyi Ogba would then steal the show with an emphatic strike that threw the fans in the stadium into a wild jubilation to earn Lobi Stars their first home win of the season.
While speaking with the media immediately after the match, Ogba dedicated his first NPFL goal to God and his late mum.
"It's a dream come through for me because I have been waiting for this moment. I will like to dedicate my first NPFL goal to God almighty and my late mum.
"I have always promised myself that I will make my late mum proud and this is one of the moments, am sure she will be happy in her grave with my little achievement. Ifeanyi posited
The Lobi Stars striker continued by setting a goal target for himself
"It's not about me, it's about how I can help the team achieve their aim for the season. I just want to score as many goals as possible. Hence, my target is to reach a double figure. The big, powerful and energetic striker concluded.
