November, 6 2023.

Having rebounded from their first defeat of the season, by edging Enugu Rangers 2-1 in a fiercely fought encounter, played at the Lafia Township Stadium on Thursday; Lobi Stars of Makurdi knows that victory today, against Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, will see them climb to the summit of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.

Their unbeaten start to the 2023/24 season was ended some 8 days ago, when they visited neighbouring Port Harcourt and suffered a 0-1 loss to Rivers United, at the Adokieye Amasiamaka Stadium.

The Father Boys who are at present fifth on the log with 11 points, will automatically take their tally to 14 points; and above the duo of 3SC of Ibadan and Enugu Rangers who are at present, joint top of the NPFL table with 13 points, apiece.

However, Bayelsa United's Robert Mizo, whose scoring form at home, and his Prosperity Boys teammates, will have a say in all of this permutation; when the Day-7 fixture kicks-off this afternoon, at 4pm.

The day's other encounter is the battle of two promoted sides; Kano Pillars and Sporting FC of Lagos, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, in Onikan.

Both sides have had a yo-yo season, and victory for either side will surely be seen as a mark of progress, this season; www.ckdmedia.ng reports.
