Last Batch of Team Nigeria Departs Nigeria Saturday for Tokyo

The last batch of Team Nigeria to the Tokyo Paralympics games departed the shores of Nnamdi Azikwe international Airport on Saturday morning, via an Ethiopian Airline.


The Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria Ambassador Matsunaga Kazuyoshi was at the airport to receive the team and also bid them farewell.


The Delegation was led by the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Nebolisa Abako. Among other notable dignitaries among them, the Media Aide to the honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr Kọla Daniel Adeyanju, SA Projects Architect Biodun Owoborode, the General Manager of NTA Mr. Fẹmi Johnson, and host of others.


The 2020 Paralympics games will commence on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021.


It will be recalled, that in the last edition of the games, Team Nigeria hauled a total of 12 medals. The Team is now hopeful to surpass that feat in Tokyo.
