Kwara State Government Targets New Stadium In Offa

The Kwara State Government has confirmed that work will begin at the Olofa Township Stadium in Offa as part of new policies to improve sports infrastructures in the state.


Chairman of the State Sports commission, Coach Bola Mogaji confirmed the new project during a press briefing after a delegation visit to the stadium, which is to be completed in 2022.


He orchestrated that maintainance of the State Stadium is in progress by Construction Company Reform Sports West Africa who confirmed through its Chief Executive Officer, Mike Adamu who shows readiness to lay hands on the new project from the 27th Dec 2021 and to be completed within 12-15 weeks.

He noted plans to modify the stadium into a befitting edifice that will accommodate new additions including modern dressing rooms, Media Tribune, Synthetic AstroTurf, well designed perimeter fence and other elements have been well identified.


During the press briefing, Chairman of the Kwara State football association, Malam Idris Musa Abdullahi highlighted the importance of maintaining and revamping football facilities in the state which he said is critical to football development.


Earlier, the delegation while inspecting the stadium, crisscross to brief the Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi, Esuwoye II on the development. Others Involved in the proceedings were Malam Ibrahim Bako, Alh. Shola Sheu among others.
