Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho is now scheduled to join Nigeria's AFCON squad in Ivory Coast on Saturday. The Leicester City forward, who picked up a knock, is still recovering in England, as he nears full fitness soon.
Iheanacho, who has been in impressive form for his club in recent months was scheduled to join the Super Eagles flight to Abidjan on Wednesday but missed out on the flight. He is eagerly anticipated to bring his skill, experience, and goal-scoring ability to the Super Eagles' campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Coach Jose Pesiro expressed enthusiasm about Iheanacho's fitness stating that he has received assurances from the Leicester City medical team that he will be ready to go by this weekend.
The Super Eagles continue to capture the attention and support of fans across the continent, will kickoff their tourney on Sunday against Equatorial Guinea.
