Unfortunate news emanating from the camp of Super Eagles is that striker Sadiq Umar will be unable to participate in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 due to an injury he sustained in the game against Guinea.
Sadiq Umar sustained the injury in Dubai and subsequent medical assessments have revealed the extent of the damage, rendering him unfit for participation in the prestigious tournament.
This news comes as a significant blow to both Sadiq Umar and Nigeria, after injuries knocked out WIlfred Ndidi and Victor Boniface from the AFCON. Kelechi Iheanacho is still to join up with the team on Saturday, with Terem Moffi replacing Boniface, set to join on Sunday.
Three sure bet strikers got knocked out due to injury - Taiwo Awoniyi Victor Boniface and now Sadiq Umar. This comes as a serious blow to the team.
