I Was The First Black Coach In The State Of Oklahoma To Acquire My A License- Tama Aondofar

November, 21 2022.

Tama Aondofar stated in a chat with www.ckdmedia.ng that he was the first black coach in the state of Oklahoma to acquire his A License in 1999.

“It’s funny that I was the first black coach in the State of Oklahoma to acquire my A License, so I was very marketable quite early. Sometimes as a coach when we go for regional camps, the site director usually assume that I was one of the players because I was young and could blend in as one of the players. Each time he finds me in the cafeteria, I will be asked why I was not in bed with the players, and each time he apologize he will laugh and say ‘you again‘. He was a lot of fun and I worked with the regional team, meaning we were actually selectors for most of the regional players to join the National team. It was a great opportunity to see that one of us is now a coach, Michael Nsien. I was the director of coaching in Tulsa soccer club.

“It’s another black history month in America and we will continue to celebrate Nsien and I know he will go places. He mentioned me in one of his interview last year in Black Month History and I’m equally very proud of him”, the former Lobi Stars chairman concluded.

It could be recalled that he was a player of BCC Lions of Gboko before he left the shores of this country for professional football.
