How D'Tigers Crawl Back Against Mali

Nigeria Senior Men Basketball team, D'Tigers kept their hopes of Qualifying for 2022 FIBA World Cup alive with a hard-fought 72-70 points win against Mali on Saturday.

Captain Ike Diogu led by example, connecting 4-of-6 long shot to drop a game high of 19 points alongside Jordan Ogundiran (19) whose crucial 4points with 37 seconds left put D'Tigers ahead. Ben Uzoh added 11 points.

Chris Ibekpa made a vital block towards the dying seconds of the game to eventually seal the win for Nigeria who were behind at the break 30-39.

The team who converted 18/24 from Free throws & 8/19 outside the arc were at a point 12points down at the second quarter against the Malians heavily powered by Ibrahima Sidibe 17 points.

Nigeria currently stay third in group B and could stand a chance of making the next round of the qualifiers with a win against Uganda on Sunday.
