Administrator per excellence Emmanuel Akpakwu has continued his blossoming shine through service to Nigeria, and her people, with his philanthropic work and administrative astuteness proving beneficial to the country’s young population, time and again.
Akpakwu, an advocate for youth development was named amongst distinguished Nigerians who were penciled down for national awards by the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari. Akpakwu is now to be recognized as a Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) for his outstanding contributions to the nation, through youth development, and capacity building, unbridled philanthropic activities, sports promotion, and professional aura exuded in numerous administrative positions occupied till date.
The Benue state native was appointed by the Republic of Philippines as its consul to the Nigerian Consulate and he has used this position to promote trade, investment and cultural exchange between the two nations, while putting the youth at an advantageous position to be beneficiaries of this relationship.
As a youth advocate, he awards young and bright Nigerians with scholarships, where they are trained nationally and internationally, so as to reach their top potentials. He facilitated the training of Nigerian youth under amnesty programmes, to give them a new lease of life, reflecting his passion for youth advocacy. Organizational boards he seats on has made it mandatory for young Nigerians to be given opportunities to be employed and thrive professionally.
As a sports promoter, Akpakwu has invested resources and his administrative prowess in helping young Nigerians engage in meaningful work while pursuing productive passion as sportsmen. He was in Russia as an observer during the 2018 FIFA World Cup and has continued to invest in sports, particularly at the grassroots level in the country.
His philanthropic activities has seen him wipe off medical bills for indegent people, sponsoring the construction of roads that has linked over 10 communities in his native state, as well as the provision of amenities for communities.
While he has shied away from the limelight of the media, he has the ears of the youth, and this leaves little wonder why stakeholder groups such as NANS, have advocated for him to be appointed as the next minister of Youth and Sports Development. He has affected the youths positively, with countless initiatives, programmes and youth empowerment schemes. While the country continues to work and match towards prosperity, Emmanuel Akpakwu has reiterated his steadfastness to seeing the youth thrive.
It’s not in doubt that Nigeria needs resourceful individuals, smart brains, technocrats with wealth of experience, like Emmanuel Akpakwu, to tinker its affairs.
