The stocks and profile of Victor Boniface as a lateral striker, and one of the best young forwards in Germany and in all of Europe, appreciated further when the Super Eagles front-man, netted a heartwarming brace in Bayer Leverkusen's 4-1 Bundesliga victory over FC Heideinhem, on Sunday.

Boniface who was only last week named Bundesliga Rookie of the month, scored the goals in the 9th minute from open play, and from the penalty spot, in the 74th minute of the encounter.

The free-scoring striker who was snapped up from Belgian Pro-League club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer, has been a revelation so far, having previously scored four times, to bring his total for Xabi Alonso tutored side to six (6) goals.

While the victory saw Leverkusen retain their second spot on the log with 13 points from five games; same points as Bayern Munich who lead the log by virtue of superior goals difference; the six goals to his name makes Boniface the third on the scorers' chart, just one goal adrift of Bayern Munich's Harry Kane; and four strikes fewer than Serhou Guirassy of Vfb Stuttgart, who sits at the summit with ten Bundesliga goals; www.ckdmedia.ng reports.

On the strength of his exploits last Summer, and move to Bayer which the 22-year-old said was agreed after he spoke with Xabi Alonso, Boniface was invited to the senior national team for the first time, and he was subed-on in the final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier which the Super Eagles played against Sao Tome and Principe, in Uyo, on September 10, 2023.
