No doubt, Super Eagles Striker, Terem Moffi has enjoyed his best season in the French Ligue 1, and as far as European football is concerned in the 2022/23 campaign.
Terem Moffi started his football in a modest league, with FK Riteriai in the Lithuania first division, before moving to the Belgian League, but in less than a season with K.V. Kortrijk in the Belgian League, he landed in the French League and was able to hit the ground running by scoring 15 goals for FC Lorient in his first season in France, but could only manage eight goals the season after.
His predatory abilities in front of goal were however never in doubt, and that paved the way for OGC Nice to shell out a fee of 2.5 million euros, to acquire the forward and he ended the season with 16 goals.
The 24-year-old striker thus enjoyed his best season, in France by netting a total of 21 goals in all competitions, in the season that just ended.
At the weekend, Moffi signed off the just concluded Ligue 1 season with a goal and Man-of-the-Match performance for OGC Nice, which thrashed Olympique Lyonnais 3-1.
It was his 18th goal of the out-gone campaign, and he now has 40 Ligue 1 goals to his name.
In May, just before the end of the season, the free-scoring Terem Moffi emerged as one of the top three contenders for the prestigious Marc-Vivien Foé award, which recognizes the best African footballer who played in Ligue 1 during the 2022-2023 season, ckdmedia.ng reports.
Radio France International (RFI) announced on Friday, May 19 that Moffi made it to the final shortlist, alongside Seko Fofana from Côte d'Ivoire and Chancel Mbemba from the Congo.
