Flying Eagles Bullish Ahead of Final Group B Match Against Junior Seleçao of Brazil on Saturday

May, 26 2023.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have had two training sessions, since their arrival in the Argentine capital, Bueno Aires on Thursday afternoon from Mendoza for their final Group B game at the ongoing FIFA Under-20 World Cup, against Brazil on Saturday.

In their first two group games of the tournament played in Mendoza, Nigeria rallied from a goal down to edge the Dominican Republic 2-1 before doing a job on the highly Italy's Under-20 Azzurris on Wednesday.

Salim Fago (61st minute) and a late goal by Jude Sunday gave the Ladan Bosso tutored Flying Eagles a comfortable 2-0 victory, and booked their passage to the Round of 16 of the 24 team tournament, which was to be played in Indonesia.

Despite their progression to the next round, for which outgoing Sports Development Minister, Sunday Dare, led the plaudits; Bosso has told the media that there is still more to come from his side, which was heavily criticized, after they failed to win the Under-20 Afcon, played in Egypt.

Nigeria will tackle Brazil on Saturday at the Estadio Unico Diego Maradona in La Plata to wrap up the group stage games, and the technical crew of the team are not in the mood of experimenting with fringe players, as the battle of who wins the group is still undecided.

Ckdmedia.ng reports that the other Group B tie to be played simultaneously in Mendoza, will see Italy who inflicted an opening defeat on Brazil; taking on hapless Dominican Republic.
