The need to promote grassroot sports has been one of the main purpose why former Director of grassroots sports, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Developments, Dr Ademola Are became the Preseident of Rugby Federation.
According to the ever lively sports administrator who spoke to www.ckdmedia.ng In Ilorin said;
“We are hosting U17 Rugby championships in Asaba to discover more talents in the game. As an advocate of youth right from my time in the Ministry, Development of grassroots has been part of me. I find pleasure to know that more talents will be discovered in Asaba as a way of promoting Rugby in the country. As board members, we have resolved to promote the game of Rugby in Nigeria and introduce this games mostly to youth and create enabling environment for the game to thrive”.
