Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem has agreed four years contract to rejoin French Ligue 1 side, FC Nantes having played for the club in the 2017/2018 season.
A transfer fee is now been negotiated between FC Nantes and his present club Boavista in Portugal's Primeira Liga.
The signing of Awaziem will be a prompt and effective replacement for Andrei Girotto, who is on the verge of joining another Ligue 1 club.
Awaziem has previously been on loan to FC Porto, and has had stints with clubs in Turkey, Spain, and lately Serbia, but should this deal be confirmed, he will be linking-up with another Super Eagles player, Moses Simon.
Simon himself was on the brink of exiting FC Nantes, before he and his agent agreed to heed the plea of the club, which escaped relegation on the very last day of the season, and see off the remainder of his contract which ends July 1, 2024.
The 26-year-old who stands at 6 feet 4 inches features mainly as a central defender, but can as well play as a full-back.
Awaziem made his Super Eagles debut in 2017 and has won 28 caps since then, scoring just a goal, www.ckdmedia.ng reports.
